"To the north of Xàbia, under a cliff of the Cap de Sant Antoni Marine Reserve, lies the Cova Tallada, a cavity open to the sea and 400 meters long. The grotto was carved for the extraction of rough rock, a material that Muslims already used in the construction of their castles. It is reached from Les Rotes by a path that looks out into corners of Mediterranean beauty. At the end you have to walk on the rocks to the mouth of the grotto. As in an adventure book, the marks on the walls of generations of stonecutters tell their story and transport them back to Roman times, to the fishing outings of King Felipe III who frequented it and to use as a marine hiding place during World War II" - National Geographic.
The walk runs between cliffs and a watchtower from the XVI century. It shows a magnificent, panoramic view of the coastline and mediterranean vegetation.
